As a socially conscious and environmentally aware individual, I have committed to developing woodworking skills and knowledge that allow me to create distinct and functional objects; objects which reflect my affinity for the environment and reinforce my commitment to good craftsmanship. My goal is to produce furniture, which bares a minimum ecological footprint on our planet, without compromising quality, form or function.

I am attracted to and utilize honest, simple forms and surfaces. They permit me to create objects which are undisguised manifestations of the materials that form them, with all their features, diversity and imperfections. Subsequently eliciting an association with the natural world and creating a social response to the set of values I stand behind.

My current work has been described as conscious, considered and suggestive. It explores the use of conventional materials in unexpected ways, inviting the user to examine the object and become involved in the way it behaves as a piece of furniture. This interaction is important because it helps to articulate the connection between the handmade object and the surrounding environment it is a part of.
